Mechanical seals

MMCH (Chesterton)

Description:

- Single seal
- Balanced
- Springs not in contact with the fluid
- Rotation direction independent

The main particularity of this seal is that cylindrical springs set has no contact with the fluid. They are located into a "dry chamber" which is confined by the wearing couple and the O-rings of the body.

Applications:

Particularly fit to work with viscose fluids and mechanical particles containing liquids prone to sedimentation.

1. Elastomers (o-rings): NBR, EPDM, FPM (VITON), PTFE

2. Seal face:
B - Graphite resins impregnated,
T - Inconel DIN 2.4856,
V - Aluminium oxide (Al2O3),
U - Tungsten carbide (TC),
Q - Silicone carbide (SiC)

3. Seat:
B - Graphite resins impregnated,
T - Inconel DIN 2.4856,
G -Stainless steel DIN 1.4571,
U - Tungsten carbide (TC),
Q - Silicone carbide (SiC)

4. Spring: stainless steel AISI 304/AISI 316

5, 6 - Metal parts: stainless steel AISI 304/AISI 316

Operating conditions:

d1 (shaft diameter): from 18 to 100 mm
P max (max pressure): 20 bar
Temperature range: from -30 to +240°C
V max (max velocity): 20 m/s
